You may recall the news last year that Icelandic - Dream pop? Post-rock? -Um, band - Sigur Ros had been cast for a cameo appearance in HBO's A Game of Thrones. Dan Weiss and David Benioff are big fans of the band, and wanted them on the show. I probably doesn't hurt that they spend so much time shooting in Iceland anyway! Apparently, the feeling is mutual: According to the Rolling Stone, the band will be releasing a cover of HBO's A Game of Throne's "The Winds Rains of Castamere"on April 13. The track will supposedly be available via Amazon.com. No news yet whether it'll be available elsewhere. The magazine also included a pic from the Sigur Ros Instagram featuring George R.R. Martin and the band. Perhaps he'll join? NOTE: Thanks to our readers for catching my mistake: I wrote "Winds of Castamere" when I meant "Rains of Castamere". My beloved cat "Grendel" was at the emergency vet earlier that day, and I suspect that my mind wasn't entirely there when I was covering this story. I'm a big fan of A Song of Ice and Fire and Sigur Ros, so I'm still quite surprised by my gaffe. Once again, thanks, and my apologies for the screw-up!
